IttyBittyGreenie, as a business and as a family, practises the “four R’s” of green living: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Rethink. We use green hosting for our website to ensure our energy use is environmentally responsible and use only 100% post-consumer recycled paper for all print and promotional materials. We also use enviro bubble wrap (if necessary) to protect your goods when posting, and recycled kraft paper or reusable tote bags for gift wrapping.
We aim to take some of the guesswork out of the purchases you make so you can shop responsibly and be reassured that our products are eco-friendly and toxin-free. We also provide products that are made by companies following a path of environmental and social responsibility, and throughout our site you will find icons on our product pages that relate to the features of the products we sell.
Here is a breakdown of what these icons mean:
Items and/or their packaging are made from recycled material and/or are recyclable.
Made from certified organic sources – whether it’s cotton for a T-shirt or a plant-derived ingredient in the skincare products we carry, we ensure that they are, indeed, organic and guaranteed as such by independent certifying bodies recognized world-wide.
We have been careful to ensure that harmful toxins such as BPA, phthalates, artificial colours, fragrances, flame retardants or heavy metals are not present.
The skin care ranges we carry do not contain harsh chemicals or preservatives such as sulfates, parabens, mineral oil or petrochemicals; and do not contain synthetic colours or fragrances.
Items made from renewable resources like organic rubber wood for toys, and that have a minimal affect on the environment, such as using low-impact dyeing processes for colouring organic fabrics.
Companies that manufacture their products while complying with fair trade principles, ensuring workers’ rights are respected and payment is in compliance with standards set by international labour rights organizations.
Products that have been recognized not only by us but the industry at large for their innovation, design, functionality and contributions to child development.
Items that have been independently tested to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety.
Suitable for sensitive skin
All of our skincare ranges are gentle and suitable for even the most sensitive skin, but if there’s something specific you’re worried about (or looking for), we are happy to provide you with the full list of ingredients.
Not tested on Animals
All of the skincare products we sell are guaranteed cruelty-free.
Kids can be messy, so it always helps when items are able to be hand- or machine-washed to keep them looking beautiful and functioning well as they are reused.
