I’ve always tried to live a healthy lifestyle and be a conscious consumer, but when I became pregnant with my first child I started to pay a lot more attention to the choices I made about everything – from food to skincare to clothing and beyond. I wanted to do all I could to not only ensure my little one had the healthiest start, but also set a good example as a parent – and so I made an effort to become informed and made changes to my lifestyle: eating organic foods, and trying to eliminate my exposure to toxins wherever possible.
That of course continued once my son, Aidan, entered the world, and I was making decisions about everything he came into contact with, from food to bottles to toys, clothing and bath products. Suddenly every decision was given greater consideration. The fact that I suffer from asthma and allergies motivated me further – to do whatever I could to protect my child’s delicate immune system and hope he would not develop the same sensitivities.
At IttyBittyGreenie, I want to share some of what I have learned on this journey, with information on the latest toxin-free children’s products made by manufacturers committed to responsible, earth-friendly practises. Clothing made from organic materials, skincare products that are petro-chemical and paraben free, toys made from natural, sustainable materials, bottles and feeding utensils that are free of hormone-disrupting toxins such as BPA.
I will also give you updates on some interesting articles I’ve found in the news and studies from trusted sources around the world. If you and your loved ones are making an effort to live a healthier, more sustainable lifestyle, I hope these pages can be a valuable resource for you.
